Bluesky backs Tereora College 1st XV
Bluesky Cook Islands is proud to get behind the Tereora College 1st XV Rugby Tour team as the gold sponsor for their Annual Pacific Cup Rugby High School Championship campaign to Laie, Hawai’i in April.
A cheque of $5,000 to assist with fundraising efforts, a Huawei P9 smartphone and ten $20 credit vouchers were presented to the team as part of Bluesky’s commitment to the sponsorship agreement on Wednesday afternoon.
Bluesky marketing manager, Kathy Papatua was on hand to make the presentation and said it was a privilege to get behind the school’s request for support.
“We are honoured to have been given this opportunity and as a company which prides itself in supporting youth development and empowerment, education and being heavily involved in community activities we were more than pleased to come on board and assist this campaign,” Papatua said.
“We wish the team the very best on their trip and we look forward to seeing them back home safely.”
Next month the national school team of 28 players will embark on their week-long journey, where they will play against the best high school teams from across the Western Region of the United States.
The tournament will be hosted by the Kahuku Red Raiders at the Brigham Young University Rugby Facility from 27-29 April 2017.
The team will be departing Rarotonga on Monday 24th April and returning on Wednesday 3rd May.
